Erin Sharp-Newton is a passionate design professional with over 20 years of experience shaping environments nationally and internationally, from Milan to Los Angeles and the NorthEast. As an advocate, Erin brings a deep commitment to addressing unique human needs through design. Her focus is on creating spaces that prioritize mental health needs, social sensitivity and accessibility for diverse populations.
Having worked with innovative design firms globally, Erin has developed a strong conviction for integrating mental health, well-being and critical social concerns into the built environment. Her work is rooted in the belief that design must not only reflect, but actively support the people it serves - whether through functional design or an intentional, empathetic approach to the human experience.
In addition to her design expertise, Erin is a voice in advocacy. She serves as the Director of the Centre for Urban Design and Mental Health, is the Chair for the American Institute of Architects NJ Women in Architecture Committee, and Adjunct Professor at Kean University, former President of AIA Central NJ, and is actively involved in numerous initiatives to elevate underrepresented voices in architecture. Through her leadership, Erin continues to inspire and foster change, aiming to shape a future where design serves both the planet and humanity.
